I can't be too bummed.
Zach and I had a pretty awesome day
aside from this:

This is my beaded bracelet.
I sell it in my etsy shop.
If you are a long time reader,
you will remember it from this post.
If you are a Free People catalog receiver,
you will recognize it from the January 2012 issue...
I don't really know what to do or say,
or if there is anything I can do.
I know that using an eagle in a beaded design
isn't exactly revolutionary...
But this is beyond a let down for me.

Jerks! They totally copied it! :/ I bet they have a team searching for cool designs to copy ... Well, at least you can be flattered, I guess.
ReplyDeleteHugs! :)
I just saw this on instagram. It's not cool at all.
ReplyDeleteugh! I knew urban outfitters did this, but I love free people! whhhyyyy?! what jerks. I wonder what other designs by artists they've ripped off. =[
ReplyDeleteUhhh...$18 for yours vs $68 for theirs? And their's isn't even cute? No thanks, Free Peeps!
ReplyDeletedo you think they stole your design? or is coincidental? are you like where's my designer's compensation? you got your graphic design degree. you've put all this time, & effort into trying to make a living. i remember when someone stole your blog design or was it your blog header. sometimes i feel like there is no justice in the world.
ReplyDeleteugh. i had heard about urban outfitters blatantly ripping off designs. that really does suck. :-/
ReplyDeleteNO! I'm sorry...that would totally bum me out too...yours are still way cooler & MUCH more affordable!
ReplyDeleteDude, that's really shitty. I'm sorry man, I can only imagine how shitty that feels...
ReplyDeleteGosh, I am lost for words too Ashley... but I am really sorry to hear about this :(
ReplyDeleteThat blows. You didn't use a pattern book when you were first learning did you?
ReplyDeleteIf it makes you feel better, I've never even heard of Free People. I'm more of a "shop indie or secondhand" kind of girl anyway. Free People can go f themselves.
