My Miss Ellie

I love this kitty!

She is the best!

Black kitties are the best thing to ever exist in the world!
If you don't like kitties then I don't like you :)

Her name is Ellie.
We named her after Elliot on the show Scrubs.

I was watching a lot of Scrubs at the time we got her.
I was really sad and that is the only thing that could cheer me up.
We had just lost our first kitty, Jake Von Jakerson.
He was an amazing guy.

We put out posters and such.
We even offered a $1,000 reward.

Then we got the call...
someone had run him over.

We were devastated.

A few days later we got a call
from a housing development nearby.
They said they had found our cat.

I was skeptical and I couldn't bear to go see if it was him,
I didn't want to get my hopes up.

Zach went to investigate and came back with Miss Ellie Yuki.
The people who found her said if Zach didn't take her,
they were going to send her off to the pound.

So we gave her a home and we fell in love!

Do you have a kitty or another pet?

Color?

Name?

How did you get him/her/them?

I wanna know!

  2. You know all about my Higgins. He's a fat little chihuahua that thinks he's a person. My retched ex-boyfriend bought him for me as a 'makeup' gift. Well, things didn't work out (as I knew they wouldn't) and he tried to say he was going to keep Higgins. He was a jerk (to put it nicely) and I knew he wouldn't take care of Higgins (p.s. he gave him to me), so I got my own apartment on the down low and Higgins and I moved out! Higgins was my little refuge. He's still my best bud even after 5 years. <3

  3. Awww, It's a sad story how you got Ellie but I'm bet you're glad you have her. I love Scrubs so I love how she's named after Elliot (: I have two cats. They're both tabbys but one's slightly white too. One named Charles and one named Tiger. They both found us :/ Charles just kept coming round for tea until his owner just moved away and said we could keep him. & One mealtime we were eating and could hear noise in the kitchen. It turns out it was Tiger eating the remains of our roast chicken. After that he just kinda stuck around (:

  4. naw, what a bitter sweet story.
kitties are awesome. I am allergic, otherwise I'd be a crazy cat lady :) so, now I am a crazy rat lady *haha*
I have 3 pet rats at the moment. A very old snow white/red-eyed male who came to us 2 years ago. He should have stayed for the weekend and we ended up keeping him since his previous owner didn't connect with him and wanted to give him to the animal shelter. So he stayed. now he is super old (like more than 3 years, that is like 90 in human years), he can no longer move his back feet and we have to give him "sponge bathes" every other day since he can no longer clean himself thoroughly. but he looks still very happy and crawls through his cage like a young rat =)
My two rat ladies I got from a breeder in Berlin. My dad had just died and were in Berlin with my family. The person who looked after my pet rats told me that she had to put my dearest Pumpkin down since she had suffered a stroke. I was devastated, it was all little too much. So Mr Sew took me to this breeder to get a new baby rat since he know that was at least some way to take my mind off of things. When I saw Karmi I instantly fell in love with her. She is white with a gray hood and a ! on her back. Then the man set Knocki (short for Knock Out) on my shoulder and she began to snuggle up in my scarf and made herself a home in there xD So, no way I could have left her there. she knocked me out with cuteness ;D she is brown and has a white heart on her belly :D
I'm planing on getting new babies soon. My ladies are a little lonely in the huge cage.

  6. I have two Kitties

    1) Reese's: A black and caramel swirl of colors. My husband found her in the soffit of a roof they were working on.

2)Noodles: She is white and gray. We found her at a friends farm hiding in the tractors. We took her home so she wouldn't get hurt.
    I love my Kitties :)

I also have a puppy named Lieutenant Whitey. We got him the day we got back from our honeymoon as a kind of start to our new married life. He was a little black lab from the shelter and we love him so :)

  7. Aw, that is such a sweet story! It really was meant to be. =)

I'll tell you about my 3rd, Linx, aka Doodle Bug or Buggie. The Maine Coon. We joke that she came right out of heaven for us. M was fishing at his parents and discovered the cutest little kitten evers. She was in love with him from the minute they met. She had been hanging around for a while and his dad had been feeding her chicken livers when he was fishing, yuck! Well M thought that maybe she was the new neighbors so he took her up there and the woman loved her and said no but she would keep her. So she took her inside. M went on with his fishing and next thing you know here she comes again. They must have changed their minds. So he said, if you are still here when I come back from on the boat you're going home with me. And when he came back she was waiting on the edge of the dock. He got a box and said get in it and she did, haha. We love her SO much. But we love all 3 just the same. ;)

  8. I love kitties!!! They are so much more cuddly than dogs. My dog is definitely reminding me how much I want a cat, but the hubs is allergic and thinks cats are evil. (i'm really not sure why, he won't tell me. I'm thinking he had a bad experience with one.) So I'm not allowed to get a cat, but I do enjoy my mom's cat Ashes. He is a fatty with white and ashes hair and beautiful blue eyes. He gets very jealous of my daughter and craves attention. I love it. He talks to you when you talk to him and he loves his butt scratched. He is the best!
My mom also has my sisters cat Gucci, but she is pretty much the devil reincarnate. She lures you in and then she'll bite and scratch you. She's insane. So we tend to stay clear of her, but every once in a while she'll come around and lay on her back to get her belly scratched, but beware because she'll turn on you in a blink of an eye. haha.

My dog, Blackie, is a great dog. She is a black lab/terrier mix. She is quiet and never barks(which I love. There is nothing worse than a yappy dog!) She is full of energy and really doesn't listen to me. So I get annoyed a lot. She insists on pooping in her kennel (This is why I wish she was a cat!) But overall she is a wonderful dog and my daughter loves her to death.

I hope you have a wonderful day.

my kitty had to stay with my mom when I moved into an apartment. Her name is Punkin Pie, I brought her home on halloween 5 yrs ago after a friend at work had found her & her siblings with no mama :(
I love her & still visit her often!

  11. I'm allergic to cats, but I sooo wish I wasn't. Whenever I am around them I want to bury my face in their soft little fur. Ellie is very pretty. And it's awesome that you name her after the girl from Gossip Girl. =]

I have a beautiful West Highland Terrier named Luca. My boyfriend got her for me for my 21st birthday from a breeder that lives about 3 hours away from us. She is the first dog I have ever had, and I seriously love her more than I could ever imagine loving an animal. I always had fish and guinea pigs growing up...definitely a different kind of animal love. We named her after the song "Luca" by our mutual favorite band Brand New. The song was actually about Luca from The Godfather, and we know it's a man's name...but we don't care! =]

  12. Yay! Black kitties are the best! >*.*< I'm sorry to hear about your other cat; I can't imagine how sad to go through that must have been :(.

I adpoted Dimitri from a shelter. They'd just brought him and all his siblings. I picked him together with my ex boyfriend! I'm glad I was the one to sign the documents! I wasn't willing to share Dimitri's custody, hehe. We picked him among the other black kitties, because he was the only one who was all alone on a cat bed under a sweing machine. All his siblings were playing like crazy. I thought he was similar to me, so we didn't hesitate. We also wanted to take his mom, but she'd already been adopted. All of them had been rescued from the street.

I chose the name Dimitri because I'd recently watched a Slovenian movie which main character fell for a guy named Dimitri (they called him "Mitu"). He was poor and made vodka with potatoes. I thought it was a cute name and funny st the same time because well most Slovenians and Russians are extremely white and Dimitri is black, haha.

I love him so much! I can't imagine my life without him. My mom loved him a lot, too :).

Miss Ellie is so lucky to have found you, guys! She certainly looks happy! :)

  13. We have a cat allergy in the house so no kitties here.

We do have a dog, Marley and love her to pieces. She was found on the side of the road when she was a few days old with her brother and sisters.

  15. I have a dog. He is a blond sharpei/mastiff mix named Jesse. I saw him at the Humane Society. He was sitting in the corner of his little pen. He didn't care about the people trying to talk to him or the other puppies yapping frantically in their cages. I tried to get him to come up to the cage door but he just sat there. Then, when I tried to pay attention to a little spotted pup in the cage above his, he let out the most mournful little puppy howl. That howl stole my heart and he has been with me for 6 years now.

  16. D'aww, that is such a sweet photo ^_^
I have five pet chickens which are more my mumns than mine as she was the one who wanted them in the first place. She LOVES them!
The are called Molly, Tilly, Poppy, Martha and coacoa.
My parents run a b&b which we live in too so the hens eggs really help out with the breakfasts in the morning. They are not only pets but are a good source for eggs (we couldn't actually eat the chickens as we have become too attached to them).

  17. awww, i love kitties! i don't have any right now though... wouldn't be able to give them enough attention!

at one point my family did have 14 cats! haha

my parent's most recent cat is named Basket because during the first few days we had her (my mom found her in a parking lot) she climbed up a tree and it was a big fiasco trying to get her to jump into a basket to get her down!
Even the neighbors were chanting "basket, basket!", hence her name!

  18. We adopted a Pit Bull mix puppy back in February. We named him Eben (yes where my blog/shop name Eben Lemon comes from) and he is my bestest friend. (in fact he is sleeping at my feet right now) he's peachy brindle and is such a good representative for his breed. Pitbulls are sadly given a bad rap from the media when in all reality it is truly it is the owner who raises them who should take all the heat. Anyways, he is so smart and knows about 25 commands (play dead, sit, stay, roll over, pray, dance, spin, up, down, out, blah blah blah) he's the best little wiggle but. You can see a picture/post all about him here:

    Thanks! -Emma

  19. Hey, I've got a week of free sponsorship going on at my blog. It's a great way to get your shop a little extra advertising around this holiday season (or if it's not the holiday season where you live then a little extra advertising never hurts). Come take a look. mylovelylittlesuitcase.blogspot.com

  20. your kitty story is so sweet!

i have two black kitties. pretty much, all i have ever owned is black kitties. something about their nature; they're so silly, personable, rambunctious, sweet, and expressive. we once had a black kitty named disco, and one day, she just disappeared. i cried for days. but now we have weetzie and vinyl, and we love them so! so much so, i named my blog after them. ha!
