I did it!
I finished working the holiday!
yays!
I should be off for at least a week,
hope that is enough time to recuperate! :)
I am in a very good mood,
this is helping me get past the
"I really don't like Xmas" feeling
and into the more "eh Xmas is not so bad" mood.
I guess the reason that I can't get into Xmas
is because I am not a christian and don't really believe in that sort of thing.
Oh and the fact that I don't have kids to play Santa for.
I don't want to scrooge up my good mood too much
by thinking of the things I hate about this time of year,
so I'll only list a few....
Super cold weather/snow
power outages
FROZEN PIPES!!!! <----- I HATE THIS SO FRICKIN' MUCH
Xmas carols
Bad gifts and people who don't like the
awesome and/or thoughtful gifts you get them
AND
the way Xmas is overrated and commercialized
BUT
I do have a lot of people in my life that I love
and I would like to give them nice things plus
I do enjoy all the Xmas baking...
so yeah Xmas is not so bad.
Well if you were to take a peek at my Xmas list,
this is what it would look like...

Doc Martens

Darlingtonia moccasins
I've been oo-ing and ah-ing these forever!

A trip to Boston!

A cute little dream home built especially for
me, Zach and our little hoard of animals
and lastly another wonderful year with Zach.

We started dating around this time of year,
(6 yrs ago ♥)
and I am so grateful we are still going strong!
What is on your list?

Aww most of the reasons you don't like this time of year I don't have to deal with. Maybe you should move somewhere warm lol. All I really want for Christmas is a new DSLR, new shoes (preferably vans), and to cancel my cell phone contract and get on my own, cheaper plan.
ReplyDeleteLittle Sugar Monster♥
Well since I dont celebrate christmas, so I dont have xmas list buuuuut I have my birthday on December so I got birthday wish list instead
ReplyDeleteanyway TRUE, Darlingtonia Moccasins are absolutely on the list :D I've been craving for a pair since a year ago
and a new cellphone would be nice
and an iPod hehe
Urgh, I'm with you on the whole commercialized thing. And I HATE how spoilt some kids are. I worked at a video game store for the past four Christmas holidays and seeing the amount that some parents spent on their kids (and for things they hadn't even asked for!) sickened me sometimes. Especially when the kids would then come into the store a few days later wanting to trade in presents they didn't even want.
ReplyDeleteBUT this year I'm not going to be working and I'm feeling a lot more in the Christmas spirit for it! I'm not religious either but I just love seeing my family and friends at Christmas. I hope Santa delivers for you and, most importantly, I hope you enjoy your week off! :)
Ugh...Christmas is sooo over commercialized. Annoying. And I HATE 24 hour Christmas music on the radio. Blech. Oh and my cousin just moved to Beantown. I want to visit SO bad. She is now 10 hours from me versus 18 to Florida.
ReplyDeleteI want a good job and insurance. Is that too much to ask???
It is over commercialized - I love that you speak your mind girl!!
ReplyDeleteI hate some of your hates as well!
I do like the cookie baking and decorating our home and I like Christmas music, but not all day long!
Have a great Sunday!
Mm, I have a love hate relationship with Christmas too. Ooh, I love your wishlist especially the DM's and that cute little house! Aww, congrats on the anniversary (: I hope to still be with my boyfriend in five years time! To be honest, all I want this Christmas is lots of cuddles from my boy and lots of laughter.
ReplyDeleteEver since my mom passed away, we don't actually celebrate Chritmas at home. I think we haven't put up the Christmas tree for years now. But yeah, who knows? Maybe when I'm surrounded by kids, it'll be a different thing. I have the commercial side of it, that's for sure.
ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely house! Actually, a dream house! It doesn't matter if it sukcs inside; the facade is awesome! :P
Enjoy your week off work! You deserve it! Oh, by the way, I got an appointment at the Embassy! :D It's the 28th of Dec, which sucks, but I'm sure the month will fly by. I'm relieved and happy, akthough I thought I was going to spend the holidays there, but that's ok.
aww..I love the moccasins. So cute! :)
ReplyDeleteWe are in the same XMas boat! It's fun being in a house of non-Christian people for a change. Makes this holiday feel more like something I can celebrate. This might sound terrible, but I get a lot of joy out of making a mockery of Christmas. I have a tree (I love decorating them) and we're planning on taking a sweater be-decked, comb-over wearing "family photo" in front of it with all of our five roommates looking off to the side...and there are cookies, and there are the few people who will "get" and enjoy your gifts. So, it's not the worst. I like to use this weirdo season and the suckfest that is getting snowed in to try new things - last year we made Abuelita, snow cream, and listened to a record Kimala brought home from Sweden. By the way, I asked my mom for Doc Martens AND moccasins! Great minds wish alike.
ReplyDeleteMerry December-End-of-a-Long-Year-Hopefully-It Won't-Be-Too-Cold!
A vacation. Which we will be getting for the first time in 3 years. Hurray!
