My Environment part 2

I did this a few months back,
but the seasons are changing once again
and fall is just around the corner!

Here are some photos I took
around my house today.

It won't be long before the leaves start changing!

I just realized today that we had a peach tree!
I always thought it was apples.

I hate peaches
& would never eat one willingly,
so I guess it doesn't matter.
They are pretty though!

What is something you would NEVER EAT
but lots of other people enjoy?

I also hate mayo, onions, & SWEET POTATOES!!!

Here are our apples!
They are pretty too,
but they sure do start to smell horrible after a while!

Ellie got out today...
she is an all indoor kitty.

Roofus chased her straight into the willow tree.

as you can see he was very pleased with himself.

Ellie got her revenge by shooting Ru with her laser eye beams.

I told Zach to make sure she came inside before it got dark.

When I got home,
he said he couldn't find her.

I knew just where to look.
I got the flash light and sure enough...
she was still in the tree.
She came down after about 20 minutes of pleading.

When I got her inside,
she was limping around like something was wrong
with her hip, or foot, or paw.
I hope she is just sore from
sitting in a tree for 14 hours.

I don't know,
but I guess I have to go back to the vet...
AGAIN.

Poor Miss Ellie.
Trees are no place for house kitties :(

Zach took me to the bead store today!

I got lots of pretty seed bead colors to make
lots of wonderful Beaded Friendship Bracelets

!

I also got some corn beads,
to make Zach a corn bead necklace.

If you want to learn more about
the legend of corn beads &
what they mean to the Cherokee people,
you can find it here

to use them as beads
you have to pull the little husks out
before you can string them up.

Zach traded in his monster Tundra the day before yesterday.
He is now a proud very proud Subaru Impreza owner.

This is my porch kitty.
His name is Beaner.
He lives on the porch.
He is best friends with Rufus.

and.....

I think that's all.

Good night guys!

Oh wait!

I thought this was funny!
Rufus dug a hole to get into this building.
It was completely unnecessary though,
because this building only has 3 walls!
He isn't very smart.

I really like this post!! Your environment looks lovely.

I love food.. ive become a lot less picky as ive grown older and the only thing i dont eat (because i cant) that lots of ppl have is Garlic. I developed a weird intolerance when i started getting sick last year. its a total nightmare! Especially when dining out. And i dont like fish.. but lots of ppl dont like fish.

  3. Haha poor indoor kitty :(

I think I'm a pretty laid-back eater. But the one thing I really hate to eat is black-eyed peas and cauliflower. I'm not sure if other people hate them, too, but I everyone around me thinks I'm crazy, lol.

    xo! Ash

  7. To take the corn bead legend one step further. Selu (corn) was in our mythology the first woman. Kind of like Eve, if you will. She is responsible for providing us with our vegetables i.e. corn and beans.

  14. Ashley! I LOVE these pictures! I can relax and almost smell the fresh air by just looking at them! You sure live in an amazing place.

It was really nice to read about the legend of the corn beads. You should definitely write about other legends you and Zach know about and maybe make more products connected to them. I love reading about legends. I have books my mom gave me with lots of legends from our native Indians; I'm certainly taking those book to the US when I move.

Ellie, Roofus and Beaner must have a wonderful time in such a spacious place! They're all so cute!

    Super tight hug!

    Miki.

  15. Grr, Right when I pressed the "post" button, I realized that I hadn't answered the question.

I hate sweet potatoes, too, yuck. And I don't like eating sweet things with salty dishes; that's why I do not enjoy the barbecue sauce much. I can eat it when it's not too sweet; David can't understand why I consider that sauce sweet, but it IS! I don't like ketchup either for the same reason.

And by the way, how's Ellie doing? Did you have to take her to the vet? =(

  16. I liked this post! As for the question about food I'd have to say I am not a picky eater in the slightest however the one food I simply cannot eat is cottage cheese. A lot of people I know love it with pineapple and other fruits but I just cannot fathom eating it. I tried it once and swore never again. I don't like the taste but really I think the biggest issue is that it reminds me of cellulite! Eww Sorry for the unsettling thought but it just looks Yucckkkk.
